Whenever we work with first-time video clients, we’re invariably asked to recommend some tips for making sure that the shoots run as smoothly as possible. This blog lists some of our tried-and-true methods for making sure that your shoot is a success for you and your company!
1.) Have a Point Person: As we prepare for the shoot, have somebody on your team established as the person who will be with our video crew for the entire day of the shoot. This will help us to make sure that we’ve secured all necessary locations, to involve employees in the shoot, and will give you an accurate idea of what the scene will look like.
2.) Review Shot Sheets: During our pre-production stage, we will send you a shot sheet that details exactly what we plan on shooting and for how long. We detail everything down to five-minute increments and allow extra time in case something unforeseen arises. We ask that you go over it with a fine-tooth comb and, once approved, keep the shots in mind for the day of the shoot. The more that everyone is on the same page, the more smoothly things go.
3.) Let Your Office Know: We recommend that you tell everyone at your office or filming location the date and time that our film crew will be present. This will help us to minimize any surprises that may arise on the shoot day and to keep everyone in the loop. It is also a big help if you designate a few employees beforehand who you want to represent your company during on-camera interviews and general company footage.
4.) Clean!: Make sure that the space you want us to shoot in is cleaned prior to the shoot. This will save us time and help us to invest our energy into making you and your brand look as great as possible!
We know how valuable your time is and we want to provide you with the most efficient shoot possible. Keep these tips in mind when it’s time for your video shoot and we promise you a fun, smooth experience that you can be proud of.
